Thanks for this great comment. I am always on the lookout for great stuff. And to be honest... I really don't like the side bar stuff, so I think I am going to remove it.

This looks like an even better tool! You get 2GB for free, and it syncs with any computer (I use mac and PC on a regular basis) And you can share and there is even an online Photo gallery! Thanks for the great tip!

I used to use Mozy, but then I switched over to DropBox and I like it a lot better. I have 4 desktop systems (1 mac, 3 windows) as well as 1 laptop which I keep all automatically sync'd. Because of their service my data is backed up on 5 machines as well as their servers. I even have some additional shared folders with people who are helping us out. I'd recommend checking them out. It's one of the few software programs I've been very impressed with.
I'm not affiliated with either of them, but I have used both of them at length.

Just a quick note that we've now added the ability to create your own footnotes and cross-references. Every word in the entire scriptures can have as many references and footnotes as you'd like.

You know, I have started playing around with iPhone development and you could manually create something like this, but it would take a lot of time and need to be updated all to frequently.

That is a great idea for an app though. If they could recreate some of the amazing Palm applications out there that help with leadership (and a lot of other categories) that would be an awesome sell. You developers can check out this website for some ideas!

I think Michael can probably respond to this better, but my guess is that that would require an entirely new funtionality that isn't currently in the application, namely a PDF view of some sort. That would be possible, but more than likely it would require a lot of scrolling in and out to read.

Good idea though... I too would love to have the parts to sing. I normally just sing melody when I am using only the words.

I think everyone has issues and doubt and too often we don't really address those questions and people fall away from something that is so real and powerful in their lives. We just love our Jensen scriptures-how convenient and compact! The only thing I'm wondering about is why you cannot view hymns in the same way as if you opened a hymnal book-you can only see the words, which makes it difficult to know what notes to sing. Have I perhaps missed an update?

Interesting. I've always found that EQ lessons are the best lessons in the church because everyone is laid back and just gives their thoughts. I hate Sunday School and even more Sacrament talks but look forward to PH.

It's curious you should mention the year of the eBook because in addition to our "LDS Books" scripture application we have released a series of 9 libraries of books from world renowned authors for the iPhone and iPod Touch devices - and yes, you can highlight them :)

Jeff, I just uploaded a new update to the Scriptures app (by ReadScriptures.com) and it has fixed all the speed issues (it is ZIPPY!) and added Bookmarks and History. History is really sweet because it tracks where you've been, kind of like a breadcrumb trail. Makes it easy to get back to where you've been recently. The other great feature is you can update bookmarks, so if you have a bookmark for "Family Scripture Study", when you're done reading you just update that bookmark with where you are.

We are finishing up highlighting right now, and a few other features...

Here’s a million dollar question – If you were to die right now, would you qualify for the celestial kingdom? If you’re like many Mormons, you’re not sure. You try hard to be as good as possible, but you still don’t know if you’ve done enough. If the Book of Mormon is really scripture, this hope will always elude you. Alma 11:37 says God cannot save you in your sins. Are all of your sins forgiven? Moroni 10:32 says you must be perfected in Christ, which can only be done by denying yourself of “all ungodliness”. Have you done that? Do you repent on a regular basis? Is so, then it is clear that you sin on a regular basis, since only those who break the commandments need to repent. 1 Nephi 3:7 states that you are able to keep His commandments. In fact according to D&C 25:15, you are required to keep them continually! Since you haven’t done this so far, why assume you will in the future? Of course, we should all try to be holy; but if you think that sinning less will qualify you to live in God’s presence, you are mistaken (Gal 3:1-11). The assumption that good works are required for forgiveness only cheapens Christ’s atonement, making it nothing more than a partial payment. God chooses to justify us by faith. Jesus alone does the “perfecting” (Heb 10:14). God gives peace to those who trust in Him alone. If you don’t have this peace, it’s probably because at least a part of you trusts in yourself.
